  • Help to define a plan, implement and optimize the spare parts that will be stocked to support field shipments.  This includes taking into account reliability, diagnostics, inventory holding cost, training level and other factors
  • Prepare CoS models (bottom-up and top-down) during initial concept phase, and update them as new information is available.  Apply results to help optimize design of diagnostics
  • Perform hands-on work for integration of Alpha/Beta systems, including performing serviceability validation
  • Travel to Beta sites for support of new tool installations/upgrades, and for escalation support for new products (25%)
Preferred Qualification:
  • 4+ years Optics and Electro-Mechanical experience required
  • Strong knowledge of overall system operation, system integration, and system calibrations
  • System level troubleshooting experience required
  • BS in Optics or Electrical/Mechanical engineering; Masters preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with ECO and MRP systems, such as Enovia and SAP

1) Lead technical discussions at a level of wafer fab process (e.g. not just metrology) with Section Managers or Department Managers at the customer

3) Arrange and drive all Technical Review Meetings with the customer (usually once a quarter)

The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Product Training, and Technical Support. The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Responsibilities:
We are seeking highly motivated and self-driven engineer to join our Laser Scanning New Product Introduction (NPI) and Service Systems Engineering (SSE) Group. This team is an integrated part of bigger team that works on designing, introducing, and supporting wafer laser inspection systems that our customers use in microchip fabrication. This person will take on increasing responsibilities as an NPI engineer. These include but not limited to the following:
  • Work closely with engineering on defining system specs and requirements with focus on serviceability and sustainability
  • Own parts of new systems integration and testing covering proto, alpha, and beta integration and testing in addition to bench testing of new parts and sub assemblies
  • Provide test reports and suggestions or plans for improvements
  • Create procedures and documents that will be released to allow customer service engineers, technical support engineers, and other users and support staff to be able to use, service, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot the system and its sub assemblies and parts
  • Plan and provide training to other users and support personnel as you are expected to be the expert and the go-to person who can help others understand the system
  • Provide occasional onsite support when needed for hard problems and troubleshooting or when technical support resources are not available. Travel is expected for approx. 25% of the time
  • Provide analysis of system performance metrics both in-house and in the field. This includes technical performance metrics as MTBF, MTTR, and MTBI in addition to other metrics such as cost-of-service, service hours, tools downs, etc. Be able to provide recommendations or decisions based on the data
  • Be a champion of change. We are looking for individuals who challenge the status quo and seek to improve on how things are done
  • Drive continuous improvement based on feedback and performance metrics from existing systems. Suggest and drive ideas to improve both technically and procedural. This can include hardware and software redesigns, new and improved procedures, and new applications
  • Perform and/or drive failure analysis and failure modes tracking. Use information to suggest or drive improvements
The individual should have abilities working with others in a matrix organization, be a good team player yet an influencer in decision making process.

Preferred Qualification:
  • Bachelor or higher degree, in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, optics, physics, or related fields with at least 3 years of experience working in a field requiring analytical skills and troubleshooting.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who worked on capital equipment, especially semiconductor process or metrology equipment.
  • Consideration will be given to individuals with lower degrees and/or lower experience but having demonstrated strong abilities, leadership, or worked on directly related industries.
  • Strong leadership skills is highly desirable
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 3 years of experience.

Master's Degree with at least 2 years of experience.

KLA-Tencor has manufacturing sites across the globe, including Belgium, China, Germany, Israel, Singapore and Milpitas (CA). The Global Operations (GOPS) team, comprised of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Installation, and Quality, is responsible for manufacturing our leading-edge technology. We partner with our world-wide supply base and our design engineering teams to bring new products to market. The GOPS team is continuously working to build our products Better, Faster, Cheaper.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for inventory reporting including Excess and No Demand (END), IFR, supplier liabilities, inventory health and business level forecasts.  Provide analysis of various business processes to improve management insight to business operations. Inventory scenario 'What If' analysis for the GOPS business in collaboration with supply chain, finance, procurement, MS, commodity teams and appropriate engineering teams. Forecasts future inventory levels and the financial impacts of business unit decisions, product transitions and EOM strategies. Generates scenario analysis, reserves impacts and recommendations.
Addresses other business level projects as needed for the US Supply Chain senior director. Expert user in Excel with ability to create actionable plans from large amounts of data. Ability to identify needed IT improvements, define project and drive to completion Interface with IT to drive improvements in services. Strong project management skills. Design reports to be run on ops data (SAP/Bus Objects/etc).  Strong SAP user with ability to design and run reports. Strong data visualization capabilities. Extensive experience in global procurement environments.

Preferred Qualification:
High level analytical skillset, 'expert' at Microsoft suite of tools, SAP, access database and pivot tool analytics, working knowledge of the supply chain, MS, finance and manufacturing policies and processes as they relate to inventory. Can 'mine' various data sources to create a 'picture' of the current and future inventory position. Collaborative style, able to work across functions and GOPS organizations to achieve results. Able to present findings, causes and recommendations in a concise and understood manner.
Self-starter, can operate with minimum direction at times.
Over time develops the skill to anticipate impacts of business decisions on inventory levels, reserves requirements, turns and liability in close collaboration with supply chain, MS, engineering and commodity team personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in IE, business, finance, supply chain with at least 12 years of experience in a related function.
OR
Master’s degree in similar study areas preferred.
